Art on display at Moorditj Yarning Exhibition
Members of our Moorditj Mia program took part in the Moorditj Yarning Exhibition, entering a large group piece depicting the Waugal Dreamtime story. On Friday, 25 July we took our members to visit the exhibition held by Relationships Australia at the Perth Town Hall.
The exhibition is a collection of Aboriginal artwork, grown out of weekly workshops coordinated by Moorditj Yarning, a Relationships Australia program.
This is the first year we have participated in this exhibition and they were ALL stunned by how beautiful the exhibition was, and proud to have their works displayed.
Three members; May, Rhonda and Joan sold their individuals pieces (all profits go to the artists). They were extremely excited when they saw the ‘red dot’ beside their artwork when we visited.
A great big thanks to Relationship Australia, who supplied all materials and transportation of the artwork.
The ladies are already planning ideas of sand art for next year’s exhibition!
