Rise has welcomed new General Manager Service Delivery Shaun Mays into the Rise family.

Shaun Mays joins Rise

Shaun joined Rise two weeks ago and said he is settling in well.

My background is in business and social work. I was recently at Mission Australia where I was State Operations Manager for three years, and Acting State Director for the last six months. I’ve also spent time at CanTeen.

Over the years I have been watching with interest what Rise has been doing. I really admire the way all communication is targeted for clients and is friendly and welcoming.  It is clear that Rise also greatly values partnerships and collaborative ways of working.

I also love the connection with Creative Arts by Rise because I’m interested in the arts, as well as live music and theatre.

Shaun said he was looking forward to meeting more staff and visiting all the Rise sites. He has already been out an about, visiting Wahroonga social centre in Mundaring for the 20 year celebration morning tea, where he got to meet some of the founding members of the Get Away Club and also got to eat some delicious cakes.

Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly, it’s been great.

I am very honoured to be a member of the Rise Leadership Group and I’m looking forward to an opportunity to help grow our Youth and Mental Health Divisions while consolidating services in the southern corridor.

Our new General Manager will be based at Helen’s Place in Middle Swan. Welcome, Shaun!
