New social centre cook gets five star reviews
The new cook at Peter Anderton Centre in Forrestfield is getting the thumbs up from our members.
From July 1 Rise took over Home and Community Care (HACC) services. These were previously run by City of Kalamunda.
New cook on the block
Cath Masters was appointed to run the kitchen in July. She has been impressing our members ever since!
Cath loves cooking a variety of food for morning and afternoon teas, and lunch.
I’m definitely a desserts person and love to bake cakes and biscuits. My favourite dish to cook though is lasagna, I’m a big pasta fan.
Program Coordinator Wendy Grivell said food was important for everyone. She said some simple changes at the centre made for a more enjoyable dining experience for members.
We are about showing people that we care and they are special. We’ve got new tablecloths, plates and staff sit down with members to eat.
Cath loves cooking slices, cakes and scones, as well as petite fours. A lot of people said they have already put on weight and will have to start watching their figure!
