Donated bikes to be put to good use
Thanks to the generosity of Dismantle, two youths will soon be able to travel to school by bike.
The Rise Youth Team recently received two restored bikes for young people who are engaged with the Rise Youth Justice Mentoring Program.
Bikes generously donated
Youth Outreach Officer Michelle Kenny said her team wanted to give a massive shout out to Darren, Jono and all the crew at Dismantle. They chose our youth program to be the lucky recipients.
It would not have been possible without the hard work put in by the talented students from the Malibu School, who worked really hard alongside their mentors from Dismantle, to assemble and refurbish the bikes.
The bikes will be donated to young people who require a bike to get to and from school. They will provide the young person with a mode of transport and it will also support the young person to exercise, supporting them to get fit and stay healthy!
The bikes were presented to Rise at this year’s Abilities Expo, which took place at the Crown Exhibition Centre.
Rise provides a number of services for youth. This includes a youth centre, safe house, transitional centre and helping teenagers to get their driver’s licence. Read more here.
