Five young people now know much more about staying safe on the roads, after completing Keys for Life training.
Rise Youth Services staff recently facilitated a workshop with the young people.
Jenni and Lorraine helped the group learn about road rules and safe driving. Other topics covered included licensing and safer vehicles.
Keys for Life program
The evidence-based pre-driver program assists young people to make smarter decisions about safer driving.
It also helps parents, schools and agencies deliver safe driving messages.
The program is delivered by SDERA and recently won two national awards.
Youth Program Co-ordinator Jackie Power said the program is delivered in a fun and informal way.
The young people also gain valuable life skills from the program. All five young people passed with flying colours and thoroughly enjoyed the day!
Last financial year, Rise helped a number of young people through the program. In this time:
- 20 young people completed Keys for Life training
- 17 of them accessed driving lessons
- 89 driving lessons were used in total.
