Keys for Life Training Session

Keys for Life

We had a very successful Keys for Life Training session on Tuesday, which was held at Headspace in Midland. Lorraine, Nina and Skye from our Youth Team ran the session. They had a 100% Success rate!

What is Keys for Life?

The program is a 5 module workshop where young people, aged 15 – 25 can have the opportunity to sit a test at the end of the day. If they pass they will receive a certificate and can take that into the licencing centre to get their Learners permit!

Skye commented,

It was a great day and think it was run really well, we do make a great team :)))) Thanks Lorraine for your amazing intro and power points. Thanks to Nina for keeping us all entertained :))))

Nina’s said,

Well done Skye on a well organised training session today with a 100% success rate. Both you and Lorraine were fabulous and the kids were really excited about the training in the car when I dropped them off.

It was a great day, all the young people connected really well. We all shared morning tea and a subway lunch. It also provides our young people with the opportunity to learn more about our youth services at Rise.

  • Are you aged 15 to 25?
  • Linked in with Rise, Headspace Midland or City of Swan?
  • Do you have barriers to gaining a driver’s licence including financial, mental health, low literacy and have limited family support?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you may be suitable for Rise’s Drive Up Program which commences on Thursday,16 April 2015.

The Drive Up Program provides support for young people (15- 25 years) who have barriers to gaining a driver’s licence. Last year, Drive Up Pilot Program “Keys for Life” provided 16 young people with four driving lessons each and supported 27 young people to obtain their learner’s permit.
