Eathen launches second book
Eathen Carruthers has launched his second book with the support of Rise.
Eathen came on board as a client with Rise in January. At the time, he was asked what his goals were. They included writing and publishing history books.
Last month Eathen launched his second book called The Life of George Henry Passmore. It is a book about Henry Passmore, a prominent figure in Riverton history.
Eathen has spent his entire life in Riverton and is keen to collate and share the history of the area. His first book called Where It All Began was launched earlier in 2017 and looks in detail at the history of the area.
Launch event for Eathen
Dozens of people attended the launch of Eathen’s latest book, including Local Member for Cannington Bill Johnston, the Passmore family, and Rise staff and clients. It was held at Alderson Place in Cockburn Central.
Eathen presented his book and thanked his support worker Chloe Wust. He also presented the Passmore family with a trophy to thank them for their support.
A family member said
We couldn’t thank Eathen enough for what he has done for our family in collecting our history and writing this book. It is very special.
Eathen plans to donate half of the proceeds from his book to Rise.
