Dawn an emerging leader in WA
The Youth Manager at Rise has completed an emerging leader course in WA.
Dawn McAleenan recently graduated from the Emerging Young Leaders in Governance Program.
The Emerging Young Leaders Program develops young leaders (under 40 years) and creates opportunities for them to succeed on Boards of Governance in the aged care and community sector.
The program accepts 20 young leaders onto its competitive program each year. They attend:
- leadership training
- structured events
- learning and development opportunities
- board meetings
- mentoring sessions.
Dawn said she had found the program very valuable.
This program has taught me lots about board governance within the not for profit sector. I have also had made some great contacts along the way.
I would like to thank the board at WACOSS for allowing me to observe a meeting and for Louise Giolitto, CEO at WACOSS, for taking the time to be my mentor.
Program Facilitator Alicia Curtis said the graduates had worked very hard during the course.
Well done to participants. Your dedication, expertise and passion for the community sector is inspiring. I know you will make exceptional board directors.
Well done Dawn, we are so proud of you! We can’t wait to see you rock the socks off a board and make an impact.
