Changes to your NDIS funding during Covid-19 

As the Coronavirus continues to impact us all, Rise is committed to supporting our clients and their families, the community, our staff and colleagues in staying safe, supported and well. To enable this, Rise has implemented our business continuity plan, as well as all protocols recommended by the Australian Government Department of Health, the Department of Health WA and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).   

So what does this mean for you? 

To help you during this period, NDIA have advised that:  

  • All NDIS funding plans that expire during the foreseeable future will automatically be extended by 365 days.    

  • If you want more security, you can request a 2 years funding plan.  

  • You are also able to request unscheduled plan reviews during this period at any time and these can be done on the phone (although you can still visit the NDIS if you want).   

Rise is committed to delivering the same high-quality services you expect and ensuring that any disruptions are minimised, while working within government protocols around social distancing.   

To do this Rise will be putting in place these additional measures proposed by NDIS to help organisations keep operating during this challenging time:  

  • a 10% increase in social, daily activity and capacity building daily support unit prices to assist organisations during COVID-19 effective 25/3/2020. While your funding plans will not be increased, it is anticipated that during this period some services may not be able to proceed so it should not negatively impact you.  

  • New Support Coordination supports are now available to provide increased supports and this will be funded through core supports funding. Rise will check in with you if this is needed and, if it is, we will add it into our supports.  

  • Effective 30/3, Rise will charge 100% for any supports cancelled by clients within 10 days of the service. 

To make sure you can get the service you want when you want it, Rise has introduced more flexibility around service agreements by:  

Accepting your approval for agreed changes to your plan:   

  • by email   

  • verbally where email is not available   

If you don’t currently have a service agreement, we can develop and agree on a plan over the phone or by email and will accept your approval by the same means.
