The OPALS (Outgoing People Actively Living)
The OPALS Club is for people who require limited support, and prefer to undertake social support activities in the community rather than in a centre.
The service is facilitated by a staff member and the program activities are planned in consultation with the members of the group. You are picked up from your home and enjoy a bus trip to a pre-planned venue. This may involve visiting places of interest, museums, exploring new shopping centres, picnics by the river, having a meal out or a leisurely drive along the coast followed by fish and chips.
As one member said:
“It’s our opportunity to enjoy engaging conversation and stimulating company while sampling fresh and exciting produce. It’s fun, food and friendship on wheels!”
The OPALS Club meet every first and third Monday and fourth Tuesday of every month.
- Pick-up: 9am to 10am
- Drop-off: 3pm to 4pm
