We understand that caring for a spouse or family member is a full-time role, and as a Care Giver you need regular breaks to re-charge your batteries.
Respite enables you as the primary Care Giver to take time out from your caring role knowing that the person you care for has the benefit of a short break with understanding, trained staff in a safe environment.
We have flexible respite options which can include:
Respite at Milperra Cottage
We can offer overnight stays for the cared-for person at our charming Milperra Cottage, situated in the peaceful surroundings of Mt Helena, allowing you, as the primary Care Giver, to remain in your own home.
We can offer short-term overnight stays tailored to meet your needs.
Milperra Cottage, is a charming homely venue situated in the peaceful surroundings of Mt Helena, where a maximum of three guests can stay allowing you, as the primary Care Giver, to remain in your own home.
Milperra Cottage specialises in meeting the needs of people experiencing memory loss and/or frailty.
Our staff encourage carers to book regular breaks, however on occasion emergency respite can be accommodated.
In Home Respite
In Home Respite cares for an aged person in their own home allowing the primary Care Giver to be able to leave their home to attend to other responsibilities or have a short break.
In-home respite is generally reoccurring on a regular basis however does not include overnight respite.
Social Centre Respite
Social Centre respite is available regularly during the day at one of our Social Centres where we provide opportunities for activity, friendship, recreation and connection in a warm, supportive environment.
