Artists at the Hub reflect on ANZAC Day

This week the Arts Hub has taken a moment to reflect on all the men and women who have served our nation in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. This Sunday marks April 25th, a day dedicated to paying respect to all those men and women. Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who served in Gallipoli in the First World War. However, we now recognise all those that have served our country over the years.

The Arts Hub members began their week baking 130 Anzac biscuits for the whole of the centre. They made red poppies in ceramics, felt, organza and paper to embellish the Anzac biscuits that they wrapped up. The verdict is… chewy and crunchy.

This video captures the making of Anzac biscuits, some of their artistic works and our very own Vietnam War Veteran, Kimberly James, who is featured in this video.
