Everyone who lives in a Rise house goes through a compatibility assessment process with us, to make sure that everyone in the house gets to know each other and are well suited to living together. The most important person in this process is you as you need to like the house, the Rise staff and the people already living there. A Rise staff member will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions and organise visits to the Rise house and opportunities to meet the staff and other residents. Your opinions and feedback are really important, and we respect your decision to live with us or not (as this is your life!).
Trusting and liking your support workers is a very important component a for living a great life. At Rise, all our support workers are well experienced, qualified and dedicated.
Our workforce meets all NDIA mandatory training requirements and receive continual training to ensure they provide safe and contemporary support.
All Rise staff are supported by an on-call program that runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week who provide advice and support on the phone.
When you live with Rise, you will also have access to a designated Coordinator who is responsible for the running of your house and the management of the staff. You will also see other Senior Managers who will drop into the house and attend social events such as the Christmas Party.
There are rules about how all Rise workers and volunteers will support you and these are called the National Disability Standards. The Standards are there to make sure you are treated well and fairly, and Rise must follow these rules when you receive services from Rise including living with Rise.
For more information about the National Disability Standards, click here.
At Rise, your feedback is always welcome, and you can directly contact a Manager by email anytime or by phone during 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Yes, payments for rent and amenities will be required and the costs are slightly different for each house. Mandy, from our Referral Team will be able to tell you more about this. Generally you will be required to pay 75% of your Disability Support Pension and your Commonwealth Rent Assistance combined. This covers your rent and outgoings relating to the house such as your share of the electricity, water, utilities and your share of the house food budget. You will be able to shop, choose and cook your own food if you like or you can eat shared meals with all the other residents in your house.
If you decide to come and live with Rise, you will need to sign a Service and Rental Agreement (contract). These agreements will be renewed annually. Contact Mandy if you would like to see an example or have more questions. PH: 0436 686 897 or Email: email@example.com.
